MyGPSWaypoints uses your device's location to capture waypoints, show your position on the map, and power the live compass, heading, distance, and bearing readouts. Location data is used on your device to provide these features and is stored only within the app's local library. It is not transmitted to us or any third party.
4. Photos and Data Stored Locally
Waypoints, photos, overlays, notes, and any other data you create in the app are stored only on your device. We do not have access to this data, and it is not transmitted to any servers or third parties unless you choose to share it.
5. Data You Choose to Share
Certain features transmit or move data only when you initiate them:
- GPX import & export: When you import or export GPX files, waypoint data moves between MyGPSWaypoints and the location or app you choose.
- Backup & restore: When you back up or restore your library, your waypoints and photos are written to, or read from, the single backup file and location you select.
- Sharing & navigation: When you share a photo or location, or open a waypoint in Apple Maps, the data you select is handed to the destination you choose.
No data is shared automatically or in the background without your action.
6. Third-Party Services
Our application does not use any third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking services.
7. Security
The security of your data is important to us. Since your waypoints and photos are stored locally on your device, we recommend that you take appropriate measures to secure your device.
